Because the weight of some materials is greatly affected by temperature and humidity, such as coal, ore, etc., the simple use of weighing system can not accurately grasp the quantity of raw materials.

For example, monitoring of coal usage in thermal power plants and flow monitoring of dust removal systems, calculation of bulk material flow for unloading cargo at railway transportation or port terminals, loading of stone crushers, etc.

An ST20A is installed above the belt conveyor line, and the laser scanner captures the 2D profile (individual cross-section) of the material in a single scan. When the belt conveyor line is running, the scanner continuously scans and combines the information about the conveyor line speed (which can usually be obtained by the encoder) to calculate the volume of coal to be transported.
